Rita Sahatçiu Ora is a singer, songwriter and actress. She was born on November 26, 1990 in Pristina, Kosovo. Her father, Besnik, is an economist and her mother, Vera, is a psychiatrist. She has two siblings, Elena, and Don. She was named after film actress, Rita Hayworth. Ora and her family moved to England in 1991. She grew up in London where she attended St Matthias CE Primary School. Ora continued her education at St Charles Catholic Sixth Form College. She also studied at the Sylvia Young Theatre School.

CAREER
Ora started out performing locally at open mic sessions. She was signed to Roc Nation in December 2008 and her debut studio album, Ora, was released on August 27, 2012. The album peaked at #1 on the UK Albums Chart and featured the singles “How We Do (Party)”, “R.I.P.”, “Shine Ya Light” and the bonus track “Hot Right Now”. Ora had three consecutive #1 singles on the UK Singles Chart in 2012. She was honored with three Brit Award nominations in 2013. Ora released her fourth hit single “I Will Never Let You Down” in March 2014. She also saw success working alongside Iggy Azalea on the 2014 single “Black Widow”.

Ora made her television debut in a 2004 episode of the crime drama series, The Brief. She was featured in the crime film ‘Spivs’ later that year. Ora held the role of “Mia Grey” in the 2015 romantic drama, Fifty Shades of Grey. Other appearances include the films Fast & Furious 6 (2013), Southpaw (2015), and the shows 90210, The X Factor, and The Voice UK.
