Maui Mall to mark Lunar New Year | News, Sports, Jobs

Maui Mall Village will ring in the Lunar New Year at 10 a.m. on Jan. 28 with a martial arts demonstration at Center Court and a traditional Chinese lion dance.

Performers with Saam Fu Chinese Cultural Arts will dance their way to shops, restaurants and businesses and will be fed donations in red envelopes known as “lai see,” or lucky money, believed to bring prosperity to the giver throughout the year.

The free event marking the Year of the Rabbit is open to the public.
